PHE and FGDP have published new guidance on radiograph quality assessment. There is a two-point quality assessment, recommended for all dental radiography and CBCT imaging. Images should be graded as A= Diagnostically acceptable or N= Not acceptable. For digital radiographs, ≥95% should be A, and 5%=N. For films, 90%=A and 10%=N. Is <5% an achievable target for practices? If practices are struggling, it may be a good idea to do an audit, record faults and undergo training.
