Radiograph Quality Reminder

Writer's picture: NikitaJoshiNikitaJoshi
GDC standard 7.1.1= You must find out about current evidence and best practice which affect your work, premises, equipment and business and follow them.

PHE and FGDP have published new guidance on radiograph quality assessment. There is a two-point quality assessment, recommended for all dental radiography and CBCT imaging. Images should be graded as A= Diagnostically acceptable or N= Not acceptable. For digital radiographs, ≥95% should be A, and 5%=N. For films, 90%=A and 10%=N. Is <5% an achievable target for practices? If practices are struggling, it may be a good idea to do an audit, record faults and undergo training.
